Different sources, different jobs

Official promotion pages establish their current champions, rankings, cards and published results. UFCStats supplies UFC bout and performance statistics. Established public record services support professional career chronology, methods, rounds, times and identity connections.

No single source is treated as authoritative for every field.

02

Career record sources

Full-career tables currently cite the specific Sherdog fighter record used for the profile. Imported rows are normalized for dates, results, methods and opponent links without copying descriptive articles. Where an identity cannot be safely resolved, the profile is labelled rather than guessed.

Source totals can differ. Those differences are displayed explicitly on affected profiles.

04

Freshness and timestamps

Current rankings, champions, announced events and recent results are checked against their official sources. Every changing dataset carries a verification or last-updated date. Historical rows are changed only when a correction or stronger source justifies the edit.

05

Data quality controls

  • Unique, stable internal fighter routes.
  • Reciprocal links for both athletes in a bout.
  • Record totals reconciled to result rows.
  • Dates normalized without inventing missing values.
  • Automated route, rendering, sitemap and integrity tests before deployment.
