A Google result, official-looking photograph or social post is never treated as a reuse license.
What Fight Atlas may publish
A fighter photograph is eligible only when its original source page identifies a public-domain status or a license that permits the planned reuse. The creator, original file, license, license link and display changes are recorded before publication.
What is excluded
Getty, Zuffa, broadcast, wire-service, promotion-gallery and social-media photographs are excluded unless the original rights holder provides a reusable license or documented permission. A watermark-free copy does not change its copyright status.
Attribution standard
Fight Atlas follows the Creative Commons TASL pattern: title when available, author, source and license. Profile credits link to the source, while the Photo Ledger records full license and modification details for every displayed real-fighter image.
Display changes
Cropping, responsive sizing, tonal overlays or background treatment are disclosed in the ledger. Fight Atlas does not imply that a photographer or rights holder endorses the site, the athlete or a promotion.
Rights review and removal
Licenses are rechecked when an image is added or materially changed. A credible rights concern triggers review; if permission cannot be verified, the image is removed or replaced while the claim is assessed. A public rights-contact channel will be activated before launch.
Reusing images from Fight Atlas
Do not assume the Fight Atlas page grants a new license. Follow the original file page and license linked in the Photo Ledger. Each image can have different attribution, share-alike or modification requirements.
